Me again here, and I’m actually sticking with this so far!!! :O Today’s topic for the challenge is relationships, and here’s the question:

SL Bloggers – How hard do you think it is to find a relationship in SL? If you have an SL relationship, have you met in the physical world? Would you meet them? Do you think it would change your SL relationship if you met?

RL Bloggers – Would you start a relationship with someone you met online? Would you have a problem telling people that’s where you met? Do you think it’s easier to meet someone online rather than at work or at a club?

Well let’s see, I have had several relationships in SL and not all of them were by the hour for the $L either! πŸ˜‰ LOL Seriously though, I have never had a hard time “finding” a relationship in SL. As a matter of fact most of them found me! Starting a relationship in SL has been much easier for me than starting one in FL. I think that’s partly because I live in a rural isolated community and I have a full set of teeth and a college education…this makes me so far out of the norm here it’s not even funny!! Not to mention that the gene pool here has maybe just a little too much or maybe not enough chlorine in it to keep it viable! πŸ˜› So even if there were any eligible suitors, I kinda prefer that my men walk upright, y’know??

But in SL that is all different. People I meet here are creative, intelligent, funny and a pleasure to be around. Not to mention I think my avatar is one pretty hot looking number y’know?? πŸ˜‰ I think this makes it easier for me to open up and be myself and not feel like I’m being judged because of my body type or looks. I’m far less self conscious in SL that is for sure…. I’m also far more of an exhibitionist too! LOL So yes finding a relationship in SL is pretty easy. Now finding a GOOD one that lasts for awhile….that’s a whole other subject!! LOL

As for meeting them in the physical world sure! I love meeting my SL/Plurk friends in the flesh!! It’s always so exciting and adds a wonderful new dimension to the relationship (be it a friendship or a romantic partner). I have met a few of my SL “lovers”, shall we call them, in FL too. It usually turned out to be fun, but most of them it just didn’t seem as fulfilling in FL as it did in SL. I don’t really know why, maybe it’s because my bed was missing the right pose balls? I’m not really sure. But, those relationships are now in the past and seem to be complete and have run their course.

Now there is the present, and in the present I am in a wonderful relationship with another SL avatar who I did meet in FL!! In fact I spent most of the month of January with him in FL getting to know him while exploring his world and his country. We had so much fun and liked it so much that we are now in the process of making it permanent!! Much to the surprise of us both!! Neither of us thought we would have a FL relationship, and we both thought that all of our “adventures” would be purely in SL, but then SURPRISE!!! LOL Here we go embarking on the greatest adventure of them all!! So with any luck, by next month I will be plurking and logging in from the other side of the world! Instead of being on SLT I will have to get used to now doing the math as I will be on SLT +9!! ROFL Oh well, i guess this is why there are watches.

As for changing our SL relationship, the answer is yes. Our meeting in FL has forever changed both of our Second Lives. For me it meant giving up my SL “career” and really committing to a single person while trying to curb my enthusiastic flirty nature. πŸ˜‰ Knowing now that any little word play that I engage in is purely that…word play. There will be no secret midnight rendezvous anymore. While my avatar in SL was into having multiple partners and experiences, I must admit that in FL I am much more reserved and I love being in a devoted and committed monogamous relationship. As for him, well that is his blog to write! πŸ˜‰ (Love you sweetie!)

When it comes to telling our friends and family where we met, I have no problem saying that we met online. I usually just say that we met in Plurk because I do keep my SL world very far away from my family and from most (but not all) of my friends as well. Trying to tell your dad that you’re a virtual escort/ pole dancer stripper who became a virtual mall owner and business person is not something that I think would go over too well if you know what I mean. πŸ˜‰ LOL So for the most part we leave SL in SL and FL in FL and I met my loving Yak online in a “social chat environment”! And I am sooooo very grateful that I did!

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!!! Thanks for listening! See you on the grid!!! MUWAH!!!

Xxxxses N Hugz!

/me smiles and waves hello

Hey there friends, lovers, and strangers!!! So nice to have you back again!! Today the BBBC question is:

SL Bloggers – Write about three positive things going on in your Second Life.
RL Bloggers – Write about three positive things going on in your life.

Hmmmm let’s reflect here a moment. Well I haven’t really been spending a lot of time in SecondLife lately. I’ve been kinda busy with my First Life, but I am grateful for Plurk because it helps me to maintain contact with my SL friends and more. OK so that would be number one then. My Plurky pals are definitely a positive thing in my life right now that counts toward SL and FL. They seem to be there with a warm (cozy) and a (girlkiss) or maybe a (banana_rock) or two just when it is needed most. It’s amazing how much those silly little yellow plurkicons can brighten your day and make you smile.

For number two (although in my heart this is the number one thing) I would have to say my new relationship with my sweetie. We first met in plurk and then developed our love affair in SL and now we are bringing it full circle to FL!! (warning!- take out your hankies for this next part or keep the barf bag handy- I’m gonna get mushy) He totally rocks my world!!! All my worlds!! I have never met a man like him so far, and I most certainly have never had a relationship that even comes close to what this is! (trust me that’s a lot! I ain’t no spring chicken here, been on the farm for over 44 years now y’know!) He makes me anxious to wake up in the morning so I can talk to him and I love to wait up at night for him to wake up and tuck me into bed for sleep. He makes me smile, and laugh, and cry, and love! He is most definitely the most special thing in my life at this time! (see aren’t you glad I warned you about the mushy part! I know riiight!!! LOL)

This brings me to number three which kinda has to do with number two as well. I am thrilled to be moving across the world to share my life with this new man! He lives in Europe and I live in the Unites States, so if we want to be together (which we really do) then one of us has to move! Since he has some obligations right now where he lives and I’m unemployed at the moment (and adventurous), it just seems natural to be me!!! I’m very excited (and nervous) to be moving to a new country and learn a new language while experiencing a new culture. This is positively the most positive thing that has happened to me ever in any of my lives!!!

Ok, I think I gushed enough now! LOL Hopefully this answers the question of the day for all you fine readers! I’m also very excited to be participating in this project!!! This looks like it’s going to be a very positive thing for me as well!! Ooops that makes four things then…i hope that’s allowed…Alicia, is it OK to have four??? LOL

Just remember that when everyone around you is frowning just stand on your head and they all turn to smiles!!! Keep a smile on your face and a song in your heart and then people won’t mind if you just laid a fart! πŸ˜‰ LOL See you on the grid!!! Hugz N Xxxxses!!! MUWAH!!!!!

Hey there y’all!!! I know I haven’t been around for awhile… oh well…been lots going on here, but that’s for another post. Today I’m here because of the Big Bad Blogger Challenge 2010 (BBBC) organized by Alicia Chenaux. Another awesome friend of mine from the wonderful world of SL! WOOT!! You can find out about the challenge here!

Anyway, today’s BBBC question is: Why did you become a blogger? How has it enriched your life?

Hmmmm good question! Well I would think that the first part of that would be to ask….am I a blogger? I have a blog (cause if you’re reading this then you know I have a blog or you couldn’t read it….duuuhhh) But, does having a blog necessarily make you “a blogger”? I don’t necessarily think of myself as a blogger, but maybe that will change if I get more regular with posting to the blog here. I much prefer posting to Plurk….but isn’t Plurk then just another form of blogging? Hmmmmm good questions. So to answer the question of “Why did I become a blogger?” I would have to say that I did it, for the heck of it!

Now, “How has it enriched my life?” This question implies that my life has been enriched by being a blogger. BUT if I don’t consider myself to be a real bonafide blogger then this part of the question would seem to not apply. Hmmmmm… such a quandary here…..maybe accepting this challenge wasn’t such a good idea. LOL But if I rethink the question then I can tell you what HAS enriched my life. My life (First Life that is) has most definitely been enriched by SL and Plurk!!

SL has enriched my life by helping me to discover further who I am, and to feel free to express other aspects of myself that I have kept hidden away until now. It also helped me to become bolder as an individual and more confident too. One of the best things that SL has done for me is to expand my circle of friends and acquaintances!!! I would think that this is the single most BEST thing that SL has done!! I have met sooo many more wonderful people than I could ever have met before!! People from all over the globe….it has been a pure miracle!!! Some of these lovely people that I have met through their SL avatars or their “Plurkatars”, I have been blessed to have met in First Life as well! These meetings to date have been nothing short of heavenly!!! I am truly blessed to know and have met each and every one of them!!! WOOT!!!

Of course there is one other way that SL has enriched my life, and it’s a story that we all have heard before too. It is through Plurk and SL that I have been blessed to meet a brilliant man! A man that has managed to capture my heart and the rest of me too. After many (and i DO mean MANY) years of being single and even giving up on the idea that I would ever have a partner in life. Here he comes….just like my knight in shining armor…. to carry me away to the other side of the world!!! He doesn’t come riding on a horse, but he does come playing a saxophone and making me laugh!!! Oh my God do we laugh!!! That is the greatest gift of all!!

So back to the topic at hand… to blog or not to blog? to be challenged or to not be challenged? I guess that now I can say….”Yes, Alicia! Yes, I AM a blogger!!!” And blogging and SL and Plurk have enriched my lives immensely!!!! That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!!! Now let’s see if I can do this every day for the rest of the week! LOL

/me sends out big Hugz and Xxxxses to all of her friends in the metaverse!!! See you on the grid sweeties!!! MUWAH!!! Love you all!!!
